I was born in Istanbul and later moved to France — a new country, a new language, and a quiet sense of distance that followed me everywhere.
In that silence, I turned to the streets with my camera. What started as a way to understand my own solitude became a journey that stretched over a decade and across cities — Istanbul, Paris, Rennes, Lisbon, New Delhi…

Between 2012 and 2023, I collected moments of stillness and emotion: people lost in thought, reflections in windows, light and shadow shaping a mood that words couldn’t hold.
A Familiar Solitude is the result — a visual diary of that time, where I learned that loneliness isn’t only personal. It’s something we all share, in our own quiet ways.

The author's handwritten signature (myself) and the limited number of copies give this print the status of "work of art" under French law, thus offering it a greater value than mass-produced photographs, which are considered "products."
